RepoCharge is now officially out of beta and ready for you to use! Read more about it here.

RepoCharge Beta

Welcome to the RepoCharge beta! Below is a very basic guide and introduction to help you navigate this platform in it's current beta stage.

What is RepoCharge?

RepoCharge is a platform that allows you to charge your audience for access to your GitHub repositories. You can use RepoCharge to select a Stripe price and a GitHub repository (+ a few other configuration you may want to change). From there, you can share a purchase link that RepoCharge provides you with to your users. When a user purchases access to your repository, they will be added to a GitHub repository that you specify as a collaborator (with permissions that you can specify*). You can start doing that here.

*You can only specify permissions for organization owned repositories due to limitations imposed by GitHub. Read more here.

Membership

At this time, you don't have to pay for anything. We're waiting for approval from our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy. When checking out, you will notice at the top of the checkout page that you'll be in "test mode". This means that you can use the card number 4242 4242 4242 4242 (or any of these) with any future expiration date and any CVC to get the membership.

What happens when the beta ends?

When the beta ends, you will be able to continue using RepoCharge. However, your data may be reset. This means that you may have to reconfigure your repositories, prices, and other settings. I will notify you before the beta ends in the Discord server.
